Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you can take some time to relax or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening, attend a detailed briefing session about the trek, including safety protocols, gear check, and last-minute preparation for the Annapurna adventure.
Today begins with a scenic drive along winding roads through the hills and villages of central Nepal. We pass through picturesque towns, terraced fields, and riverside landscapes. After reaching Besisahar, we switch to a 4WD jeep for a rugged off-road journey to Syange. This small settlement, surrounded by waterfalls and steep cliffs, marks the true start of our trek.
We begin our trek along the Marsyangdi River, ascending gradually through tropical forests and alongside waterfalls. The trail takes us through beautiful villages like Jagat and Chamje, where we witness rural mountain life. After crossing several suspension bridges and narrow trails carved into cliffs, we reach Dharapani, a peaceful village nestled in a pine forest.
As we gain elevation, the vegetation changes from subtropical forest to coniferous woods. Today’s trail is rich in Tibetan-influenced culture and Buddhist chortens. We pass the villages of Bagarchhap and Timang before reaching Chame, the district headquarters of Manang. Snow-covered peaks like Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II begin to dominate the skyline.
Leaving Chame, we walk through narrow valleys and dense pine forests along the Marsyangdi River. A dramatic cliff section carved into the rock wall adds excitement to the trek. After crossing a suspension bridge and gaining altitude gradually, we reach the open valley near Pisang. The landscape here becomes drier, and the mountains loom closer than ever.
We take the upper trail for better acclimatization and mesmerizing views. The path ascends to the traditional villages of Ghyaru and Ngawal, where ancient stone houses and prayer flags adorn the hills. As we continue toward Manang, we see stark contrasts in landscape—arid slopes, icy peaks, and glacier-fed rivers. Manang offers great food, bakeries, and a mountain-town atmosphere.
This rest day is essential for adapting to the higher altitudes. You can take light hikes to Gangapurna Lake or climb higher to Ice Lake (optional but challenging) to help with acclimatization. You may also visit the Himalayan Rescue Association for altitude tips, explore local monasteries, or relax at a café while enjoying views of Annapurna III and Gangapurna.
We leave behind cultivated fields and trek into alpine terrain. The trail gently ascends, offering views of snowy peaks, dry meadows, and grazing yaks. Sparse vegetation and thinner air mark our arrival into the high-altitude zone. Yak Kharka is a small settlement where trekkers often share stories around the fireplace at local tea houses.
Today’s trek is short but important. The trail becomes more rugged and barren, crossing landslide-prone areas and wooden bridges. We reach Thorong Phedi—the base camp before crossing the high pass. You may choose to stay here or continue a bit further to High Camp if you’re well-acclimatized. Rest well and hydrate in preparation for the next day’s climb.
We start the day before sunrise to cross the formidable Thorong La Pass (5,416m), the highest point of the trek. The climb is steady and slow but offers breathtaking Himalayan panoramas at the top. After celebrating at the summit, we begin a long descent to Muktinath, a revered pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists with eternal flame and temple grounds.
We descend into the Mustang region, characterized by its dry, desert-like landscape. Along the way, we stop at Kagbeni, a windswept village with medieval architecture, narrow alleys, and a 500-year-old monastery. The trail continues along the Kali Gandaki riverbed to Jomsom, a bustling town known for its apple orchards, strong winds, and dramatic scenery.
We take a short but scenic flight over deep valleys and rugged hills to Pokhara. Upon arrival, check into your lakeside hotel and enjoy a relaxed day. You can go boating on Phewa Lake, visit Davis Falls, or just soak in the contrast between the remote mountains and vibrant Pokhara city life.
Today we return to Kathmandu by tourist bus (6–7 hours) or a short 25-minute flight. Once back in the capital, spend the day shopping, exploring heritage sites like Swayambhunath or Patan, or enjoying a farewell dinner with a cultural show in the evening.
Your journey through the Himalayas comes to a close. Our team will transfer you to the airport for your international departure. We hope you leave with beautiful memories, new friendships, and a deep connection to the majestic mountains of Nepal.
